For the thousands of you who were dupped into ordering Easy Google Profit, and have now found yourself locked into a monthly payment of well over $72.71, here is what you need to do:

1. Call your credit card company and report the card stolen/lost
2. Ask for a new card to be issued right away.
3. Dispute the charges.

There is no point even trying to call anyone at Easy Google Profit, or any of their aka names (such as Google Treasure Chest, Google Money Tree, and more). Very few of the available telephone numbers for these people work. And, almost all of them are only for the company that processes their payments, and not the actual scamming company.

Based on the dozens and dozens of comments we have on our previous post, Stop The Easy Google Profit Scam, it has been proven that calling their billing company, and obtaining a cancellation#, usually results in continued billing to your credit card.

It has also been advised, by an expert in the credit card industry, telephoning these programs proves you purchased their product, and makes refunds more difficult to obtain. By reporting the card stolen or lost, and then disputing the charges, you are much more likely to have your case resolved in a timely manner.

If you would prefer to go the alternate route by calling them to cancel, here are a few of the numerous telephone numbers you can try:

Google Treasure Chest 888-705-1275
Grant Springs: 888-247-2155
Safe Lock: 866-879-1266

Anyone using WordPress will be well aware that the much anticipated 2.8 version became available for download/upgrade late last week. I am loving all of the new features, and will explain those in more detail in a future post – except one. The syntax highlighting.

It’s nasty! It completely locks up my machine and browser every time I try and edit 1 little section. That is, if I can even click on the section I want to edit without the cursor zooming back up to the top of the page. Then when I want to paste, it asks for permission (which I ‘allow’) only to have it paste a nice little ‘v’. Grrrrr. Then to top it off, extra blank lines of code are randomly added to the stylesheet on every click of the ‘update file’ button. Pretty soon my css page is going to be thousands of lines long!

Being a custom blog designer, having a functional editor for CSS and php pages is crucial. I dug for 2 days on how to fix this error. No one seemed to know. Then viola – I found it! (It’s so simple, that I am almost embarrased that I didn’t see it before….)

1. Go to Appearance–> Editor
2. Click on the new Screen Options button that appears in the top right corner of the page, under your admin Log Out link.
3. Click the Disable Syntax Highlighting link that appears.
4. Jump for joy – your editor is now fixed

I really hope this helps at least one other person, who has pulled their hair out over this ‘bug’, for the last few days. And yes, it can be re-enabled for those of you who actually miss it

There are a few choices available; use an existing free shared blogging platform such as Blogger, Typepad, or Wordpress.com, or you can choose to brand yourself by registering a domain name and hosting the blog yourself using Wordpress.

Using a free shared blogging platform is easy, and obviously free, but it does have limitations for those of you who have big plans for your blog. This is why we recommend the self hosted Wordpress method. You now need to set up your blog.

This method is not free, but will allow your blog to grow, and removes all the obstacles that you will encounter with a shared blogging service.

Here’s how easy it is to set up a self-hosted Wordpress blog:

#1. Register a domain name for your blog. This helps brand your name and/or niche better than using free hosted domains. My parents prefer to use GoDaddy. You can too.

#2. Use your new domain name to open a hosting account for your blog. One of the best hosting services available for a reasonable cost is HostGator. They give you unlimited usage for your blog and have a great customer support division if you ever need help. They also use cPanel which is perfect for setting up your word press blog quickly.

#3. Once you have received your welcome email from Hostgator, it will tell you what your nameservers are for your domain name. These nameservers are important and tell the world wide web where everyone can find your domain. So log into your Godaddy account, select Nameservers from your domain menu, select Custom Nameservers and enter in the two names Hostgator provided.

#4 Wait about an hour and you then should be abot to log into your cPanel. This is the control panel that you will use for your hosting account. Hostgator will have let you know what your login details are in the welcome email you received.

#5. Once inside your cPanel, look down the list of icons until you find Fantastico or Fantastico DeLuxe near the bottom. Click this to see the list of scripts that can be added to your website. Find ‘wordpress blog’ on the list and click. This will bring you to an installation page that will, within 2 clicks of your mouse, install wordpress on your domain name.

Follow the simple instructions provided, click install, and voila, you now have your own self hosted wordpress blog ready to start making money!
