I was an avid buyer and seller on Sitepoint as well. Flippa is absolutely ridiculous...a virtual joke. I have tried to use it at least a dozen times without success. It is a pitiful reminder of a once great site.

Thanks for the write up and your feedback.

We just lowered the minimum success fee from $10 to $5 to better accommodate sellers of start-up sites below $200: http://flippadotcom.wordpress.com -- Have a look at the blog post, this is just one of several changes that launched last night.

As a side note, I think many start-up sellers have a great opportunity to move upmarket and drastically boost their income - if they are willing to step outside of their comfort zone. As an example of what can be done, have a look at the 5 StartupCamp Sydney Web Apps which where developed in 48 hours and then went on to sell for $500 to $4000: http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2009/02/17/startupcamp-sydney-sites-go-under-the-hammer/ .
